Will Wilde Band

14/03/2018 7:00 pm

Will Wilde will be releasing his long awaited new album ‘ Bring it on home’ the week of the show which will be available on the night. He will be preforming songs from this as well as other favourites at Worthing Pier. If you saw him support Walter Trout recently you know what to expect If you like Harmonica and live music don’t miss this show.

Will Wilde picked up his first harmonica at the age of 16 and played it until his lips bled. Weaned on the likes of Muddy Waters, Sonny Boy Williamson and Buddy Guy, Wilde grew up steeped in traditional Chicago Blues, yet his focus as an artist remains resolutely on the future.

Wilde fuses his passion for blues with his love of rock. He takes what’s authentic and powerful about the music he grew up loving and introduces the raw energy of bands such as Led Zeppelin, Free and Deep Purple without losing the heart and conviction of the blues.

With knowledge and respect for the original masters of the instrument, Wilde takes the harmonica to a whole new level. Thomas Ruf (Ruf Records) called him‘The Hendrix of the Harmonica’. His live show has been described as: ‘A masterclass of blues harp playing, bar none.’ (Blues in the North West).

‘Bring It On Home’ is a covers album: a passionate tribute to British and Irish blues-rock legends: “It’s my way of repaying the originators of British rock: bands like Free, Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin,” as Will put it himself.
“An exciting and expressive harmonica player… Excellent vocalist” (Mike Vernon)
“He takes the harmonica to another dimension” (Paul Lamb)
